I joined CRANE after hearing Selena talk about it at an A-line event, and became secretary by accident not long after! I had an interest in research before, having been a participant in many a weird and wonderful study at university. I am currently leading the Temperature Audit Project and head up writing our newsletter.
Vivek Vaidya
“I’m a current stage 1 anaesthetic trainee with previous research experience as an academic foundation programme trainee in the East Midlands and intercalated MRes from Newcastle looking at the effects of High Intensity Interval Training on Cardiac Autonomic Function in Type 2 Diabetes. I have led “NuMB” alongside Zach in the region, as well as maintaining the Regional Project List with the aims to improve project handover and uptake between rotations. Outside of work I enjoy surfing/biking, perks of living in the North East and being able to do both often! “

I have been involved in research since my undergraduate days and CRANE has provided me an opportunity to continue working towards research. Apart from work i stay busy with my kids. “I am currently a stage 1 anaesthetic trainee and a recent addition to the CRANE team. I heard about CRANE through fellow trainees and getting involved as a site lead in the temperature project. I am excited to be involved in the interesting and varied work that they do and see what opportunities await! Outside of work I enjoy being out in nature and all things food!”
